When I logon to mtv.com to watch reruns of shows I am not able to watch. They just never download. I can watch from youtube but that is it.

How do you know the problem is not w/the webiste. You should first post in their forum community or contact their tech support department. Read the info at the bottom of their home page. You must first make sure that your MBP meets all of their requirements to play their tv shows. Were you able to watch the shows previously on your MBP?
I think I was able to watch them previoulsy. And I probably do have 10.6.8. I do every update that comes out. I will check to see if my computer meets all the requirements.

Please confirm and correct your profile information. Incorrect profile information will get you incorrect troubleshooting suggestions/solutions that can possibly damage your system.
All late 2011 MBPs were issued with Lion OS (10.7). Go to the menu bar and click on the >About This Mac and see what OS you have. This is mine:

Why can't I watch videos from tv channels on my Mac Book Pro? For example Mtv.com will not let me watch any tv shows. But I can watch on a regular computer in my house.
