iPhone 5 wrong wifi password SOLUTION found!
This had been driving me crazy for about a week, but I finally found an EASY solution that works! Over the last week my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.3) would not log into my home wifi and would always return the message of "incorrect password" even though I know I was typing in the correct password. I tried different things including resetting network settings, resetting all settings, changing my password on the router and other useless things. However tonight I did find a way to get connected to my wifi again!
DON'T RESTORE YOUR PHONE OR ANY SETTINGS ON YOUR PHONE UNTIL YOU TRY THIS FIRST!
DO THIS INSTEAD - RENAME YOUR WIRELESS NETWORK!
You will need to login to your router through either software on your computer or through your internet browser. Check the web for instructions on how to log into your particular brand and model of router. Typically though you can just enter your router's ip address into your web browser. Below is a list default router ip address for the most common and popular wireless routers. Equally useful there are pages all over the web listing default username and passwords to log into your routers home page depending on your brand and model of router. Once there you should find options and have the ability to RE-NAME your WIRELESS NETWORK. Once I had logged into my router's home page I then RE-NAMED my wireless network AND CHANGED THE PASSWORD and clicked apply to save the changes. When the page was finished I turned my iPhone 5 wifi back on and tapped the newly re-named network and entered the new password and SUCCESS! It worked on the first try! I hope this helps those with the same problem!
