Apple ID Verification email problems

Hi All,

I want to back my phone up to iCloud but it says that my Apple ID has to be verified first.

I sign in, click on the "Send Verification email" but nothing appears in my email account.

How long does it take for the verification email to arrive and if it doesn't what do I do then?

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for the swift reply. The first link didn't work, even after I'd stripped out the extra 'http://'

The link should be (for other users of this site): http://appletoolbox.com/2012/08/fix-unable-to-verify-apple-id-because-activation -verification-email-is-not-sent-received/

The second link also doesn't work - it should be: https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/

When I sign in using the second link I get the following:

User uploaded file

(obviously my email address isn't that one!)

The email address displayed is correct, but I can't verify any more information without having the verification email. Round and round in circles....

Is the only solution to simply ditch this Apple ID and create another one??

If I try to use my email address, won't I get an error saying that it is already in use??

Very frustrating!

Yep - checked junk (spam) folder

Checked email address too (which is correct as I got notification of your reply)

Still not arrived some 3 hrs later!

The only thing I can think of is that my email address appears as all lower case when there are come capital letters in it. Strange that the notifications go through but not the verification emails?!

Can't seem to be able to change the email address ('cos its linked to the Apple ID?!)

Try some of the suggestions here might help;

http://http://appletoolbox.com/2012/08/fix-unable-to-verify-apple-id-because-act ivation-verification-email-is-not-sent-received/

Or go to http://https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and check all details have been filled as sometimes people have left birthdays out and have not been able to get the verfication e-mail.

Thanks for your help so far.

I'm happy to get whatever help I can on this one - it is driving me barmy.

The email system must be very tardy as it is over six hours ago that I originally clicked on the verification button.

Can I request Apple delete the Apple ID with my email address so that I can create a new Apple ID??

If so, how do I contact Apple to request this - or is this something that I can do in an Apple Store?

I get notifications of updates to this thread, so not #1

I don't understand point #2. I thought your Apple ID WAS your email address, so if I get email (see #1 above) how can this email address be wrong?

I have an Apple ID - this one - which won't verify (it uses an aol email). My husband has his own Apple ID using a gmail email which he synchs with iCloud, no problem.

Any idea what is going on?

Currently talking to Apple Support here in the UK (been on hold for 3 mins so far)

cheers

Hi

I can log in to my Apple ID using my email address and password.

I click on "send verification email" and I get nothing.

I wondered if I had got an errant space at the beginning or end of my Apple ID, so have highlighted the whole login box and re-entered the email addrsss manually several times - but no verification email comes through.

I'm up to 25 mins with Apple Support in the UK and the guy has just got me to go through the 'send verification email' thing again.

Ready to tear my hair out!

The guy I was talking to couldn't sort it and so he passed me to 2nd level.

I was on the phone to that guy for around an hour and he finally sorted it for me.

He sent me an email and it came straight through. He then tried sending the verification mail and it didn't appear. Finally, he managed to get the iPhone to synch with iCloud by resetting the password - something that I had already tried twice before.

He very kindly gave me his direct email at apple so that I could get in touch with him if anything else caused problems or if I remembered something after we had ended the call.

An absolute star - thank you Andrew - sevice above and beyond. Pity I can't let your line manager know how happy I am after your time and trouble. My 3GS will now synch to iCloud.

@fromsouth - many thanks for your suggestions and taking the time to reply. It was doing my head in becasue nothing I seemed to do made any difference.

So what was wrong and what sync with icloud has to do with receiving verification email?

You are welcome, I d love if you could specify what is wrong and then, mark your question answered, cause there is going to be a hundred people with the same question. Would be nice for them to have guidance.

Hi all , i found a solution and I verified my Apple ID , the solution is simple :

1- Change your primary email adress to another one and make it different from the Apple ID

2- Go to manage your account panel , an alert will appear to tell you that you should make the primary email adress and the apple id the same , you do that and chaneg the primary email back and make it the same as the Apple ID

3- Once the email is reset the click on verify your adress from the same panel and the email will be sent .

I hope that helps !!!

Best Regards 🙂
