buying apps for others

I have never bought anything from the iTunes store until today. I wanted to send a game to my grandaughter for her 12 birthday. She loves the game on my Mac, so the idea was to go to the iTunes store, buy the game, and have it sent to her.

Well, I clicked all the buttons and it immediately began to download the game to my computer. No warning, no comments about sending the app to someone else.

Now I have two copies on my Mac and I want to know if there is a way to get it to her computer. She lives 1500 miles away. 😟

Thanks
