How do I get to my Library to choose playlist I want to sync after I chose my device?

I want to add more of my playlist from my library. After I choose my device I can't get to my library, it only shows me the music on my iPod. How do I get to my iTunes library to choose which playlist I want to add (sync) to my 4th generation iPod nano?

The latest iTunes may hide the sidebar. To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.

With the sidebar showing, you should be able access the playlists and also see the iPod, under DEVICES.
