need of some help,

hi, recently i have been having troubles with my imessage, it wouldnt work, it would say everything is connected and i restarted and turned off and my phone back on again, im not too sure what else i can do? Is my phone a lemon? I have also had my iphone plugged into the computer as well and nothing seems to work, now i am getting messages of error when it is trying to find the software update. Im having alot of issues with something that worked 3 days ago 😟 So sorry to trouble you with this problem, but im getting really upset that my phone isnt working the way it was made out to sound.
