Apple doesn't have to price match Walmart, and Walmart is obviously selling them under cost or at very little profit to get you to buy from them.
By the way, you're not talking to apple here, just fellow users and we have zero control over what apple does.
What doesn't make sends is why you think you are locked into buying from Apple because you have a gift card. And if you have a gift card doesn't that help pay off the Mini anyway?
Buy the Mini from Walmart and use the gift card for apps, music, books or movies on the iPad Mini.
But if the gift card is only for the apple store that's the only place it can be spent. I can't redeem a best buy card at walmart.
