  1. go to applications > utilities > keychain access
  2. you may need to enter your password to unlock the lock in the left upper corner.
  3. under keychains select login
  4. under category select passwords
  5. make sure that there are no duplicate entries for yahoo mail. If there are, delete them
  6. if that doesn't work, delete all of the yahoo entries, and go back in mail.app > preferences and delete the yahoo account and reenter the account info from scratch.
  7. doing keychain first aid wouldn't hurt either.
    1. in keychain access, do option-command-A
    2. verify and then repair.
  8. this will probably fix it.

If you have a free Yahoo account, access from a mail client is not supported, according to Yahoo. It may work sometimes, but not consistently. You need a paid account. A free account is accessible only through the webmail interface.

You might be able to get Mail working temporarily with a free account by logging in to the webmail interface and confirming your identity, if prompted to do so.

Hi ,

I sure could use your help .. My phone prompts me for

My yahoo password for mail before I send a email . When I do this

On my yahoo activity page it shows a IP address out of Texas and its registers

As a Verizon headquarters in Jersey . Generally when I log in under mail on phone

It says browser as access type on yahoo activity page but when prompted to manually

Put password in it shows a weird IP address in Texas as location but actually is a headquarters

In jersey .. Under yahoo it shows yahoo mail mobile login ? I don't

Have a app ? No one can seem to help me understand I want to ensure this happens and is some what

Normal ..

Any advice ?
