after snow leopard update (10.6.8) some web content (text) is scrambled or blank.
I plan to update mountain lion. Will that cure the problem or should I fix it now? What's wrong?

Please post a URL with an example so we can look. Have you attempted any trouble shooting and how did you update Snow Leopard, please be descriptive.
I had to get the disc from apple for OS X 10.6.3, then downloaded the upgrade to 10.6.8. Plan to download the Mountain Lion upgrade soon. Will this solve the problem or ?

The text at upper right on this page is scrambled a bit, and the descriptive text below photos is blank. I don't know how to take a screen shot of this so you can see what I can see.
First, no upgrading to Mt. Lion will not help, it will make the issue more difficult to solve. Does the issue happen with all websites or just the one?
Have been busy with taxes, am only just now discovering that most sites are okay. I know there was something related to the tax work that was somewhat scrambled but don't remember which site. The Hemmings site seems to be the key indicator of a problem that is sure to show up elsewhere.
I've looked at discussion of similar problems and it seems that most issues are related to installation of different fonts. I've not installed anything on this machine other than Adobe Flash Player and Reader.
This is the first problem of this sort I've had on my iMac. It reminds me of the constant issues we used to have in the office on those bill gates PCs; which is why I bought the Mac. I'm surprised that upgrading the OS X would produce this kind of result.
Not sure what to do.
It works again! Additional updates, including Java, seems to have cured the problem.
