After you connect the iPad to your Mac and launch iTunes - If you cannot see the iPad in iTunes go to View>Show Sidebar at the top of the screen in the iTunes menu and then your iPad should be visible in the sidebar.

Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.

Click on the Photos Tab on the right.

Select iPhoto in Sync Photos from heading

Click on the albums, events and faces that you want to sync.

Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

You can use a simple transfer app named 'Wireless Transfer App' available on App Store.

It helps copy photos and videos between different iOS devices or between iOS devices and computers. No apple ID, iTunes, data cord. As long as you have a wi-fi network access, you can move your files.
