I'm operating Mountain Lion 10.8.3 on a new iMac. I'm using an HP G3110 scanner and want to use Image Capture with the scanner since HP's software upgrade for scanners/Mountain Lion works only sporatically.
How can I set IC to capture a separate image for the 4 slides I can scan at once?
How can I set IC to recognize and capture separate images for 4-6 pics set on the scanner at once?

There is a setting in the Show Details view of Detect Separate Images. Have this enabled and each slide should be detected.
If you wanted to make one file of all the separate scans, then you can scan as TIFF or PDF and enable the setting for making a single file.
I did have IC set as you describe. The software basically detects 3 slides, not four. It provided three dotted frames that can be adjusted; I also managed to create a 4th frame but it was not picked up, and the scan framing was all over the place.
How do I get Image Capture to scan multiple images?
