not able to send meeting requests

I am having trouble sending meeting invites from my mac calendar. I use a private domain email and I am not sure if this is causing a problem. I can send meeting requests from my ipad using this email. when i try to add the email as an account within the mac calendar it does not accept it - it says the server doesn't support ical. Is there a solution or does mac calendar not support these type of email accounts??

thanks

As you have not told us what type of email account it is that's a very difficult question to answer but, Mac Mail (which is the mechanism used by iCal and Calendar to send invitations) supports POP, Imap and Exchange accounts, that's pretty much every mail account. What type is yours?

First - i had a lot of trouble setting up my email on my macbookAir- my data was migrated from a PC. i have one email account working and still can't get my second one working. when i try to set up my email account in mac calendar, it says no CalDAV servers were found for my domain. it is a POP incoming and STMP outgoing. now there is a screent that asks for CalDAV for the server address. Then it askes for calendar serer options and asks for a server path.

My eamil support person susggests i go with Office 360 for 99$ a month. It seems to me that it should work...

Thanks
