I get this error : http read event stream error
What Mac? You drag the photo into Messages and then what happens when you send?

Most recent iMac 21 inch.
I don't drag the photos into messages. I copy them. Then I get an exclamtion point

Try dragging a photo into the Messages screen.
That doesn't work.

Eric suggested control clicking to bring up the contextual menu, but that only allows me to import items from a scanner, camera, or other device.
