After my internet connection was re-connected this weekend I get an error message when I try to access incoming mail via the dock although I can send mail via the apple mail account. I can access Safari, and the internet and can send and receive mail on Comcast.net via Safari however I can't "Get Mail' through Apple mail. OS X 10.6.8


the error message is:


There may be a problem with the mail server or network.Verify the settings for account "Comcast.net" or try again.

The server returned the error: The connection to the server "Mail.comcast.net" on port 465 timed out.


I did check the settings.
I also checked the box:  Use SSL


Any suggestions?  Klaus1?
