How do I delete photos from my mac, without affecting other iOS devices (iphone)?

Hi there, I only have a MBA with small storage. I wish to delete the sync'ed photo from my MBC (currently 5+GB), as I use an external HD to back up my photos anyways. But I do not want to affect the same photos stored on my iPhone.

when I delete photos in iPhoto will it delete the same ones on my iPhone via iCloud or the next time I plug in my phone?

THANKS!

If you send the photos to your phone using iTunes Photo Sync (iOS: Syncing with iTunes), yes then the albums and photos that are no longer available on your mac, will be remove from your synced IOS device. To keep them permanently on your phone, save them to the Camera Roll.
