Does the Lightning connector carry the antenna signal?

Previous iPhone models' 30-pin connector carried the antenna signal, which was useful when docking into in-car adapters as it made the iPhone use the car's more receptive aerial. Unfortunately BMW has yet to release an adapter for the iPhone 5, which means I will still have to use the previous BMW adapter for the iPhone 4 in conjunction with a convertor cable such as this one from DX.com.

My question is - given that the iPhone 5's Lightning connector is only 8 pins rather than 30 pins, does it still carry the antenna signal?
