When searching web address bar doesn't complete search leaving the result incomplete why?

Advice please, when I search the web on, my Ipad the address bar does not complete the search, IE the blue strip doesn't go all the way across and the last few characters in the address appear faded. When the web page is found it either doesn't open, takes a very long time or photo images are not populated ? Help please!
