My iMac optical drive is faulty. To get around this problem I have an external LaCie drive connected via FireWire. When using Toast to make DVD/CD copies the Toast application attempts to use the internal Optical drive. Is there any way I can either disable the Optical drive either through OSX commands or Toast Preferences?
iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
Really wanted to know if hashing out the DVD drive from fstab or autofs.conf would get around the problem? Just want to have the ability to manullay select (or not in my case) the use of the internal DVD drive.
