Printing to Epson C46 from iBook G4

Does anyone have any helpful tips for me please? Printing anything from my iBook onto my Epson C46 printer seems to take forever. Each page takes about 2 minutes to print - even though the printer is working 'flat out'! On my old Windows PC each page took about 20 seconds. Why the big delay now? and, more importantly, is there anything I can do about it?
