Can't verify iOS update corporate network

Dear all,

We resently have had a load of iPads purchased for the school and I'm having trouble updating the iOS on them behind the corporate network security. Apps download and install ok but when I check to update the iOS it downloads but then can't verify so it would install. Does anyone know what ports etc I would need to open to let it verify?

Thanks

Duncan

I'd call your apple care support number get some help.

If you want to diagnos it your self, I'd look in the logs.

I've got an old mac, but yours is probably similar.

Your blockage could be by some institutions router, but your talked to them to open other ports. The router should/may have logs too.

blue apple > system preferences... > sharing > firewall tab

Go click on advanced. Enable loging.

After failure, come back to this dropdown and look at logs.

Look in the log and see what ports were block. I'm not a export on these things. Some ports are dynamic and will cange from boot to boot. Don't know about your situation. A blocked port, 1009, is highlighted in blue.

I got confused over what you are doing. 😟

I did find apps in the app store to read console logs.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/consuela/id481121105?mt=8

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/device-log-viewer/id489202498?mt=8

I do not know if you will get the information you need with either of these apps. On my mac the info is in the ipfw log, stands for something like iternet protocol firewall log.

Well I got the following from the free log app, I'm not sure if it even relates to the problem but I opened the app tried a iOS update which failed and went back to the app. It had the following:

Wed May 15 15:25:31 2013 Preferences com.apple.Preferences[1820] <Warning>:void loadAPTableCellImages(): loading images

Wed May 15 15:25:33 2013 Preferences com.apple.Preferences[1820] <Warning>:-[APSettingsController specifiers]: Raven: _canForget(0), _canSetAutoJoin(1), _canSetAutoLogin(0)

Wed May 15 15:25:36 2013 Preferences com.apple.Preferences[1820] <Warning>:-[WiFiManager(Private) _scanCompletedWithResults:]: Had to add our current network(Raven) back into our network cache Wed May 15 15:25:47 2013 Preferences com.apple.Preferences[1820] <Warning>:void unloadAPTableCellImages(): unloading images

Not sure what I can get from this tho 😕
