to connect to a bluetooth device the device have to be put in pairing / discovery mode

how to do that consult the manual of the bluetooth device

these are the bluetooth profiles supported by ios devices if you have other bluetooth devices or services that will not work

The Bluetooth on iPad is meant for earplug, headset, keyboard, car hands-free set and speakers.

You need 3rd party apps to do file transfer.

he said iPhone 5, not iPad.

i am having a similar problem - my macbook pro 2010 (latest MAVERICKS OSX) has recognised and paired with my other bluetooth devices and shared files with them. except my new tablet. they are PAIRED but i get the notification 'network is not available'

i checked that bluetooth file sharing is selected in preferences / sharing.

should it be asking me to have a network connection? it does not request this for other bluetooth devices. has this changed with Mavericks from Snow Leopard?

checked lots of posts on here, still no clarity or solution. HOW ABOUT A RESPONSE FROM APPLE?
