HandBrake - http://handbrake.fr.

If this was a disk you personally burnt yourself on this computer, there is a way to create a second copy of that disk via Disk Utility. You can try Disk Utility with your friends disk, however it may not work as Disk Utility cannot create usable copies of discs with an incompatible format or discs that are copy-protected. (These include most commercial movie DVDs and audio CDs and some software and data discs.)

To Try Disk Utility - Open "Disk Utility" on the computer, found by clicking finder in the dock, selecting applications then the utilities folder. You should see Disk Utility in the utilities folder.

When disk utility is open, you will see the words "disk utility" beside the apple, at the end of this top menu bar, you should see "help". Click on "help" and select "disk utility help". In the window that opens, search out the words "duplicate CD or DVD" in the top right search engine of this window. Follow the instructions listed there, for instructions on how to do this. Also, see this article - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2059.
