For MacOS X 10.5.8 you'd need iTunes 9.2.1, see http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056

Apr 8, 2013 1:40 PM in response to BB051892by varjak paw,If you're trying to install the most current version of iTunes, iTunes 11 (or iTunes 10.7), that it requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later on an Intel-based Mac. The last version of iTunes that would run under 10.5.8 on a PowerPC-based Mac is 10.6.3, still available here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1575
If that's the version you're trying to install, post back with the exact error message and someone will probably have additional suggestions.
Regards.
