It's been 3 days and still nothing. I'm guessing its shot. 😟 What are my options? Can it be repaired or should I just consider it a loss and buy a new one?

You can take it to Apple for an out of warranty replacement which is $229.
Apple will exchange it for a refurbished replacement. It's an out of warranty replacement.
THe closest Apple store to me is 2.5 hours away. UGH. Does this mean I most likely lost all of my pictures?
Most likely. Thoughts for the future include storing your data on your computer as well as making a backup of the computer. Always sync your data TO the iPhone. The only things you can sync to the computer are new purchases made from the iPhone, new pics taken with the iPhone.
