Does anyone know if Mountain Lion's SMB client support SMB 2.0? If so, is there a way to enable it? Thank you!

Apple introduced its own version of SMB in 10.7 and is still using this in 10.8. It is SMB 2.0 compatible but there are issues with authentication from devices. Are you having an issue with connecting to the Mac with SMB?
You enable it by turning on File Sharing in the Sharing System Prefs, then click on Options and set it to share via SMB.

I can connect without issues to an SMB server (non-OS X), but that connection reports itself in Wireshark to be an SMB1.0 connection.
I read that SMBX that was deployed with OS X was based on SMB2.0, but have yet to figure out a way to make an SMB2.0 client connection to my SMB server.
Thank you Barney but issue is not connecting via SMB, it is making an SMB 2.0 connection from my Mac to a non-Mac SMB server. I can connect fine with SMB, but it is only a SMB1.0 connection.
Looking at some other posts on ASC about the same topic, others are saying the same thing. That is, they are unable to get SMB2 connections from the Mac while Win7 is using SMB2 to connect to the same resource. For the articles I did find about this issue, no one has been offered a solution to make this work.
Install Maverick, it has SMB2 and works very very well
