Every gradient that is on my screen looks pixelated and choppy. This makes it hard to work on Ps and Ai. What causes this and is there a way to fix it?(Photo is upside down for some reason)

Hi, likely upside down because it came out of iPhoto or such?
Go to System Preferences > Universal Access and down in the Display: section make sure that the Enhance contrast: slider is all the way to left to Normal, or more to the right for less Contrast.
Thank you for the advice BDAqua.
I adjusted the Contrast slider and it just got worse when I moved it to the right.
Any other ideas what it might be?
