Another ical question.

Everything is up to date. I want to be able to type something in my phone cal, and have it sync up with my mac's ical when i plug the phone into itunes and hit sync. I'd also like to be able to do the reverse; being able to type on my mac's ical and be able to plug the phone in and sync the info onto my phone. I just lost a job over this problem and cannot find a solution on the forums or elsewhere.

using itunes version 11.0.2 (26)

using OSX 10.7.5

iCal version 5.0.3 (1605.4)

Automaticaly back up to this computer. I'm not using iCloud.

Sync calanders is selected and so is all cananders.

On my phone (iphone 4 6.1.3), under settings - mail,contacts,calendars - calendars - I dont see anything that would effect this problem here.
