Can I get Mainstage 2 from the App store without disturbing my Logic 8 installation? (Mainstage 1 is already installed...)

Should be fine, though you may want to re-name the MS 1 application (and/or) zip it as a backup.

I can't seem to find the 'buy' button on the App store - what have I missed?

Assuming that you have logged in to the AppStore (in the Store Menu), the "buy button" should be right under the MainStage Icon (top left)

Sorry, I forgot you have to click the price to reveal the buy button.
Strange - it didn't ask for credit card, etc. - just downloaded and installed it!!!!!!!??????
Also, it's currently installing about 2Go of data; where's it going? I've already got tons of sample libraries in the Application support/Logic folder;
