Open the iTunes app and select Purchased from the bottom menu. You should see a catagory for Audio books at the top (will only display product categories you have made purchases in). Select the title and tap the cloud icon to re-download.
Caveat: I don't own any audio books and I am assuming it works the same as other product categories
Sorry I can't find audiobook on the menu. What should I do?
Then simply go to itunes, locate them and re-download.
BTW: all of this assumes you are still using the same AppleID you purchased them with.
To the best of my knowledge, audiobooks are not available as part of iTunes in the cloud for free re-downloads. It was that way for quite a while and I'm not sure that they are available now. You may have to pay for them again.
If you go to iTunes to download them and you see the Buy button, that will indicate what I am saying that they are not free again.
I have the same problem, 1st audiobook purchased via itunes and 1st part wont play. No way Im paying twice. Im sure Apple should be aware of this and need to do something!? Its just not fair. Heres my question:
And the response in that thread still applies. If you experienced an issue with a download, you need to contact itunes support for assistance.
You cannot re-download audiobooks from iTunes as of yet, like you can do from audible.com. When I discovered this early on, I quickly multi-backed up my iTunes audiobooks and stopped buying them from Apple. Until Apple's policies change concerning this, I will be buying all my audiobooks from Audible. Apple has lost ALOT of business between their iBooks (limited selection compared to Kindles) and Apples ibooks that are not available to sync with audiobook playback ("narration" with spoken word highlighted) like some Kindle books are. Apple has a lock on music with iTunes, but I think they have really dropped the ball on their iBooks and Audiobooks market. iBooks run only on limited devices and on the audiobooks market, since Apple's are not available from the cloud). This is HUGE market and is just getting bigger. Time for Apple to catch up on this one since Amazon is WAY ahead in this market. It's like Bing trying to catch up to Google, in this regard. That is what saved Apple, The iTunes online music store. If it wasn't for how well Apple has done with iTunes, and also with the Apps store.
Books in any form are not becoming obsolete, we'll maybe for some people. As Steve Jobs once said in an 1996 interview, "That’s what makes great products. It’s not process, it’s content.”, as in BOOKS!
