Reverse iPad wipe request.

My stolen iPad has been FOUND by the police! Not expecting to get it back, I set my account to automatically wipe it when it next connected. It has apparently not been connected since being stolen, and now that I will get it back I want to cancel that request so that I don't lose everything when I myself connect. I would expect to have to jump through all kinds of hoops to prove that it is really me making the request to not wipe it, but I can't find any clue as to where to begin to get the process canceled. Anybody know what I need to do?

We are going to make it a better question. Say we want to wipe something so we ask Apple to send a signal that will go all around the world, even if your ipad is in another part of the planet signal will find and tell it wipe itself. Signal is sent and transmitted and retransmitted and keeps repeating itself over World Wide Web. Go and try to stop it.

If you have a backup, no worries. Restore it from its backup.

If you do not have a backup, do not turn on the iPad. When you get home or wherever you happen to keep your Mac or PC, make absolutely certain you are not connected to a wireless network. Shut off your wireless router or whatever else you use to connect to the Internet, thus ensuring the wipe request cannot be delivered.

Then, back up your iPad.

Once you restore your Internet connection your iPad will be wiped, so let that happen. But you now have a backup, and no worries.

Also, if the iPad is off line (which it ought to be) there should also be a link from which you should be able to remove your iPad from the "Find my iPhone" list.

Select your iPad from the "Devices" list. You will find a link on the bottom of the icloud.com page - the one that looks like this

Also, there will be an x icon like the following

Either or both of those might remove it from "Find my iPhone" and invalidate the request. It would not hurt to try both, but be certain you will recover your iPad since you will not be able to re-enable "Find my iPad" until you do.
