Flashing EFI ATMEL CHip

Can someone please help me with some knowledge of flashing my atmel efi firmware chip, one of my friends at school donated a macbook to science so we can learn programming. Can you please help me, thanks I am willing to pay for help.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

Here's the breakdown:


1- The engineer at the school had a macbook pro the atmel efi chip is what commands the booting, password and other aspects of the macbook


2- He said he never figured how to flash the efi chip either to reset it or install the firmware on the chip



3 - He gave it to me for free, if I can flash the efi chip or install the firmware on it I will have a good working macbook pro.

Go through steps 1, 2, 3 and post back what you get. For the time being, forget about what this engineer told you. Just wipe that from your mind for now.
