Can I upgrade Ram on Macmini mid 2011 to 16GB. I read somewhere that the mid 2011 macmini only takes 8GB. Please confirm

Apple tests their computers with readily available RAM at the time of development and rate them for that quantity. After the machines are available, outside RAM vendors test them with other higher quantities of RAM, thus the difference between Apple's numbers and others.
