I just bought a Macbook Pro and I can't connect my HTC One to it. It's very annoying, especially since I already uploaded my music to the Macbook.

I just bought a Macbook Pro with Retina and I cant' seem to connect my HTC One X+ cell phone to it. It seems that I have to download the HTC software for the phone called HTC Sync Manager, but app won't open on the Macbook Pro because it's "unidentified." PLEASE HELP! I just uploaded all of my music and I really want it on my cell to run to. Thanks!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Having the same problem, since i just bought a HTC One and looking for the almost the same answer, I'll help you.
This is however more a HTC problem then a Apple problem, HTC should've made sure that the phone is capable with OSX.

Anyway, go to your settings > developers options
and turn these 3 on.
Stand-by (don't make your screen go out while being charged)
USB Debugging

and Allow Mock Locations.

This way it is possible to sync with HTC Sync.
I haven't found a way to make the One act like an USB stick though.

This is not an HTC problem but an ongoing Apple vs Google/Samsung feud and its ripple effects down the chain. Apple has become less innovative, laggier in its performance and hacknyed in its innovation so the only "good" they are doing is raising hurdles for their only competition. If I were Apple, I would focus on bettering their stuff (and producing dialogue across platforms) rather than wasting their time on sabotaging. The legal suits shows envy and the company now reminds us of Microsoft!

OK Folks i believe i have actually found the solution. I know i am a bit slow but i only got my New HTC One 32gb today (it was free from Three). Like you it would not connect to my Mac or work PC. So here is the way i got it to work. Download Android File Transfer if you have not already got it. Make sure you have USB Debugging setup etc. Now you need to download a free programme called SyncMate. I used SyncMate 4 because i am running OS X 10.7. There is a paid for version of Syncmate but we just want the free version as it seems to contain some drivers that will make Android File Transfer see you phone. Download SyncMate, install it as per usual and hey presto when you plug in your HTC One Android File Transfer should open automatically...BINGO!!! It worked for me which i am really chuffed about as i was just about to ring Three back up to get the phone returned. Let me know if it worked for you too :-)

Cheers dudes

Paul.
