Q: MacKeeper - Should we allow MacKeeper to access our confidential info on the Key chain?

MacKeeper reqeusted that security setting be changes prior to an update could be installed? Then after this was altered it now wants access to our confidential information on our Key Chain? Is this safe and why do they have to have access to our info just to do an update?
