my screen is getting bloches of gray matter. I see it happens a lot. Apple should recall these and replace the screen.

You are of course, out of warranty ... but if you have Apple Care you can have your screen examined and replaced or cleaned if it is faulty ... free of charge.
no. no applecare. 7 macs and never needed it before. Can you buy it now. even if you purchased in late 2011?
No you can not. It has to be purchased within the standard 1 year warranty period. So you are basically SOL.
Time to think about some other system for your next purchase. One that comes with a better, longer, warranty.

Next time you buy you really must consider it, It is the cheapest 'insurance' you can get.
