Q: Lost contacts and pictures. Can they be recovered?

I was syncing my phone to a brand new computer.

It never finished. Incomplete backup and restore.

Said it detected an iPhone, but could not recognize the

Device. Unplug and try again later. So, that's what I did and

When I unplugged it this AM, it was at factory reset. No phone,

Messaging no internet. My contacts and pictures are gone.

Though a little while later, I got a few phone calls and texts. My voice

Mails were all there minus names and such.  Phone and web are working fine now, I'm just devastated

That my pictures and videos are gone. There's no price I

wouldn't pay to recover them. Nearly 3,000 snap shots and

They're not backed up anywhere else. Is it possible

To recover any of my lost data?

If you backed up your phone while these photos were in your camera roll, restoring the backup should recover them.  Otherwise, without a backup they can't be recovered.  You can check iTunes to see if there is a backup on your computer by going to iTunes Preferences>Devices and looking at the Backups list.  If you are backing up to iCloud, the backup would be listed in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage under Backups.
