Q: How can I recover deleted notes from my iPhone 4s?

I took notes in my class using the app on my iPhone but a week later when I went back to the notes it was deleted and gone. I know it was on my phone because I looked over it after class. Is there any way to recover it? I looked on my icloud but there was nothing on there.

    Hello ctgonzalez,

If your note is gone from iCloud.com there is only a few ways to possibly recover it.

The first things I would check is a iCloud Backup, a iTunes Backup, or a 3rd party email that may have contained the note. To restore from a iCloud or iTunes backup follow HT1766. This article explains how to restore a device from either back up.

Note if you have backed up since the note went missing, you will not have the note on the backup. Make sure you do not back up if trying to restore from a back up as this will back up the content without the note.

To get to the "Set up assistant" on an iOS device, you must go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. Once the phone restarts, you will be at the "Set up Assistant"

Gmail emails are very commmon sources for notes and you may have been adding them to the gmail notes without even knowing it.

    Best Regards,

    Jordan Park

You can try the two ways to recover deleted notes from iPhone 4s

    1. Directly scan and recover notes from iPhone

    a) Connect your iPhone to the computer

    b) Enter DFU mode and scan iPhone

    c) Preview and recover iPhone notes

    2. Scan and extract iTunes backup to recover iPhone SMS

    a) Scan your iTunes backup for iPhone 5/4S

    b) Preview and recover iPhone notes

    c) Do backup well

If the above two can not help you, you may have to refer to pro application to help you. I have ever used data recovery tool from [ tinyurl.com/Data-Recovery-iPhone ]

    Hope it also helps you!

Notes.app files sync over iCloud, and typically publish immediately. There could have been an exception; such as if your device force quit the app, etc. You may want to try signing out and back in of your Apple ID associated w/iCloud, and/or toggle the Notes setting in the iCloud Settings pane.

I just had that problem and all I did, after reading all this and finding it just too complicated, was:

    1) Settings

    2) Mail, Contact, Calendars

    3) Gmail > turn Notes On

    4) Then went to ALL of my other email accounts and checked of the notes were on.

After doing this, my missing notes came back... Good luck!! :)

I'll take you through all the possibilities of how to recover deleted notes from iPhone 4s.

=> Check for iCloud backup if you have any so that you can restore the notes saved on iCloud.

=> Check for iTunes backup. Download and install the free software "iPhone Backup Extractor" and launch the app. It will automatically search for any backups on your computer.

=> Check for your lost contacts in Windows/Users/Notes folder. There are times when iTunes saves the notes in this folder.

Hope one of these methods will help you.

If you backup with iTunes and you restored from the backup and the notes were gone, then there is no where to retrieve them from unless you have another backup that contains those notes.

Launch iTunes on the computer and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. You will see a window with all of your backups listed in it.

If you see a recent backup that you are certain contains the notes that you need, recover deleted notes from iPhone backup.

I think the suggestions might be of use to you.

Several of my most important notes just disappeared overnight for no reason.

Not sure if this will help if you've deleted them, but my notes were linked to one of my email accounts (in my case yahoo).

I logged into my email account directly from the yahoo site (not iphone mail!) and "Voila!" my disappearing notes were there with all of my other notes in the Notes folder there!

Took some cut & pasting and I'm back in business.

    Hope this helps.

This was the trick!  Worked for me and back up in moments.  Now ensured my notes are going to the cloud!  Thanks for saving me, my note was an important inventory...

    Hello,

Well if you saved document in your iPhone then you can recover it by using iCloud.
For recovering data using iCloud follow given step's:-

===>First of all Go to iCloud.
===>After that Login with your Apple ID & Password.
===>Now select Storage and Backup option.
===>Now restore your backup and restart your iPhone.
===>If you didn't save document in your iPhone
===>Data Recovery Tools can be easily available on internet.

    Hope it helps.........
    Thank you........

I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link

First of all, I’m glad Armstrongcobb’s suggestion solved your problem.

You've got no worries if you still have a backup, but not everyone may have a backup (like me, for example). I had never known how to make a backup. I didn’t know that iTunes takes an automatic backup when I plug my iPhone to my PC. So trust me, when I say, I have done a LOT of research.

The only solution that worked smoothly for me, was this one: Get lost iPhone notes WITHOUT a backup. I wish there was an easier way around this, but there isn’t.

I tried spotlight and everything , but all in vain. If anyone does know an easier solution, please share.

I just got them back from my email accounts.

Still don't know the reason why I lost them :(.
