iPhone 4 Battery Draining

My iPhone 4 battery is draining every day, and I konw I'm not using it any more frequently than before. I have the same apps that I've had for the last 6-12 months. I've had this iPhone since early 2011...does anyone know the shelf life for iPhone batteries?
