I have an Ipod shuffle

I have an Ipod shuffle. I was gifted with a Samsung dual docking station. It seems I need an adapter to connect shuffle to dock....suggestions?

Thanks

You should first find the manual or specification for the docking station online. You can also provide a link here...

An iPod shuffle is a simpler device, compared to the iPods that have screens, and it does not have the Dock (or Lightning) Connector. Even if there is an adapter, it is likely to not work connected to the docking port on the station.

If the docking station is the type with speakers, it may have an auxilliary audio input port (it would look like the iPod's headphones jack or maybe RCA connectors). If it does, you can connect the audio output of the shuffle (the headphones jack) to that audio input and play the shuffle directly through the speakers on the docking station.

That "pin" opening is the headphones jack that doubles as the data connector. It is not a full dock connector that is on most iPods. The rectangular opening is for a full dock connector.

I don't think what the Samsung person proposes will work. Apple does not provide such an adapter. The shuffle is not designed to be connected to a dock connector.

It may help to know about this docking station. Model name, number, link to the product online...

I hope you don't have a 4th gen iPod shuffle, because it says it's for "2G." The connector is different between the 2nd gen shuffle and 4th gen shuffle, so it won't work (on a 4th gen shuffle). It's the same as the USB cable for a 4th gen shuffle not working with a 2nd gen shuffle, although it will fit in the hole.

But that is pretty cool, for someone with a 2nd gen shuffle.
