My iphone 5 only charges sometimes, only certain side of cable.

Tried multiple cables and outlets. Sometimes I have to plug it in and out like 7 times before it will charge. Only one side of the lightning cable will work. Same exact thing if I use the extra Griffin cable or a wall adapter. Now if I plug it into my 2011 imac it locks up my computer, programs will still run, but my mouse and keyboard quit working.
