What is the default passcode?

I upgraded phones recently, but have kept the old phone in use as my bedside alarm and for music...it ensures I have plenty of battery for talking on my new phone. I updated the software on the old phone (iPhone 4) last night and woke this morning to find that with the update, a passcode has been added that prevents me from accessing the phone at all. Anyone know what that passcode is?

I read an old thread where people were taking guesses ... telling the person asking that they must have set a passcode (I didn't), or that they must have stolen the phone (I bought this phone new from ATT). This passcode was added by the iTunes update last night. There is no other way it got in there. The question is what is the passcode that iTunes is putting in the phone with the most recent software update?

iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.3

iTunes does not add a passcode during an update so there is no 'default' passcode.

If there is a passcode present now you will have to take the normal actions for a forgotten passcode.

You will need to restore your iPad from the same computer that you most recently synced to.

If you can't do the restore then you will need to try recovery mode.

Two days ago I updated my iPad after constantly being reminded by Push Notices. I never ever use a passcode on it as there is nothing much on it and it stays in the house. I was in a rush and couldn't sit there waiting for the process to complete so left the house. Earlier I came back to the iPad and turned it on as I needed to set an alarm... There was the page asking for the 4 number passcode. Although it did not have any passcode set prior to the update I input the 4 numbers I always use when faced with a passcode.. No good. I tried the same numbers again in case I had made an error and still nothing. I then entered my birthdate... eventually locked out. I then had to erase the iPad (nothing much on it anyway).

I am not suffering from any form of dementia so am fully aware that before the process there was no code set. I am the only person in my house and therefore the only one with access to the iPad. In any case... I had accessed it to update and there was no passcode (as normal). As I had left it to update overnight it had turned itself off and this seems to be the main point. If you don't proceed immediately and it turns off then you get stuck with some sort of default passcode.

No doubt there are people out there who will say this does not happen... It does.! Try it for yourself

I deleted the iPad and when restarting selected the option for No Passcode... I have my alarm clock back
