Q: Do Not Disturb

DND provides a mechaism to shot of alerts temporarily. It only works when the device is asleep. To set it up, Open the settings app > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > and edit the settings to suit your needs. To Turn it on Settings app > Do Not disturb - set to On.

Frankly it is probably more useful on an iPhone thatn iPad, but it is available on both devices.

Do not Disturb is a feature that came with iOS 6.  It basically silences all Alerts and Incoming FaceTime Calls or Messages, unless you set it to answer the facetime calls.  To turn DND On go to Settings-DND On.  To change do not disturg settings, go to -Settings-Notifications-Do Not Disturb.
