iMac screen burn in?

Hi all -

Shortly after the new slim form iMacs came out, I purchased a 27" machine for our iOS developer. He spends a good amount of his day within xcode. Over the last couple of weeks, when he's switching out of xcode into another app, or on his desktop, we're noticing some pretty bad burn in. When he shuts down over night, and comes in, its fine. Then after a few hours of use during the day, the burn in reappears.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance,

John

There are a few postings about it in the "More Like This" thread over here?----------------------->

You had 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked. Plus you have 90 days of FREE phone tech support on top of your standard 1 year warranty unless you also purchased AppleCare which gives you an additional 2 years of coverage plus FREE phone support.

Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out. Let Apple deal w/your concerns.

Thanks Baby Boomer. I actually saw that, but most of the links point to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2807 which isn't a great solution.

This is a work machine that is used for 8+ hours a day. We've only had it for 4 months or so, making this completely unacceptable. I've owned a number of other Apple products / displays and have never had a burn in issue with a new machine.

Trying to see how wide spread this is, while I wait for a reply from my Apple business rep.
