how to get iphone 5 out of recovery mode

Can someone pleeeeease explain to me how to get my iphone 5 out of recovery mode. I had updated itunes on my laptop and iphone, then did the latest update and then my phone went into recovery mode. I have tried pressing the on/off and bottom buttons lots of times but I just cant get it off. I even downloaded the umbrella software n my pc went haywire, so i've uninstalled it and the all the other stuff that comes with it. Can someone please help, i;ve been trying to sort it out for about 3 hours.

iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.2

I tried to do the restore and it failed, said there was an error.

Is your phone jailbroken before you did the update?

Sorry I cant remember, it was a couple of hours ago, but no ive never had any kind of jail break device on my phone, i read that tinyumbrella can help you sort it, but it just played havoc with my pc, so I removed all of the associated software.

is it? I didnt know that - but i didn;t do anything anyway with that cos I wasn't convinced it was safe to use, thats why i uninstalled it all. Getting back to my original question can you help please.

Yeah i had this same problem but i did have my ipod (5) jailbroken beforehand. I was trying to update my ipod software to 6.1.3 because i wanted to update and get rid of my jailbreak in one shot, but after it downloaded the update software it had the error. It told me to restore, but the restore does not work either.

You will need to use tinyumbrella again to kick it out of DFU mode. You shouldnt need to have used to kick into DFU, but it will save your *** now you are stuck. After kicking out, you can restore and try again.

In general, dont mix your jailbreaks. Stick with one that others have written will work. Limerain does appear, but sometimes you need to reset – also, did you check the next homescreen? It gets installed to your second home screen by default, so even if you cant see it on the first screen, it may be on the second screen…
