I thought this was self explanitory... a screw requires a screw driver for disassembly. Read the instructions all the way through - everything you need is there.
are there any other guides on replacing parts in a macbook e.g. changing the combo drive for a super drive as i have seen ones for the powerbooks and ibooks?
I was able to get the hard drive out of my MacBook but I can't get the drive out of the trolley. It seems as if the screws are hex screws but apple's pdf doc on it doesn't say that. Does anyone know the size or type of screw in the trolley(tray)? Thanks My hard Drive is sitting on the counter.
I just replaced the 5400 rpm with a 7200 rpm yesterday...
Yes - you have to remove the 4 star patterned bolts (2 on each side) from the old hard drive - these will match holes on the new drive.
I don't have it with me - but it is a
very small driver that you'll need to use (maybe a 00)? Luckily I had a set that came with a larger "toolbox" purchase of screwdrivers, etc or else I wouldn't have been able to remove them either.
