I have a macbook pro running Lion. When I try to pair it with my iphone 5 I sometimes get a successfull pairing then errors. Other times I get
"The device does not have the necessary services" on my mac. What an I missing?

The iPhone will not pair with the Mac, other than for tethering using the HotSpot feature on the iPhone. Please see below for supported Bluetooth protocols.

You didn't answer my question. I've already updated the software on both my iphone 5 & my macbook pro running os x 10.8.3. I've seen many examples of people with the same issue but no solutions. Do you know what I can try?
You can try anything you wish, but the iPhone will NOT connect to the MacBook Pro. What are you planning to do with the Bluetooth connection?
There is no solution because you can't do that. Unless you're trying to tether the cellular data connection, you can't pair the iPhone with any computer for any other purpose.
Well, there is something funky going on here, because I was able to use the iKeyboardRemote app to pair with my iPhone 5 and control the itunes playback on the phone using iKeyboardRemote from the desktop using bluetooth! There is definitely some dissconect between people here. I'd like to see a concise answer.
