Apr 11, 2013 7:22 PM in response to rsh18Fby William Lloyd,Symantec probably has an uninstaller; check with them.
I'd recommend you uninstall it all and never install anything newer, honestly. It'll cause more problems than it solves.

Apr 11, 2013 7:24 PM in response to rsh18Fby John Galt,You usually have to use the program's uninstaller utility for such things as Symantec. Read this:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH132120
You may need to install it all over again, just to use its uninstaller.

Apr 11, 2013 8:35 PM in response to rsh18Fby macjack,Symantec AV has borked more Macs than any AV software I know. Just search these forums for problems with Symantec. You don't need it, you don't need AV at all. Mac has it's own built-in Malware protection called xprotect and the definitions are refreshed everyday.
