Ipod Shuffle A1271 is not recognized in Windows 8 64-bit

My Ipod Shuffle is not recognized in windows 8 (64 bit)

I get an error saying the device is not recognized by the computer and was getting just a solid orange light on the ipod.

I kept playing around to find a solution and in the process deleted the drive in hopes to install it again. Now I just get a flat green light and am unable to even restore the driver.

Yes. I have the latest version intalled but this hasnt helped.

I thought it could be to do with the Shuffle not having enough of a battery charge.

So i plugged it into the wall charger and then tried this didnt work either.

It wont even play music for some reason. The only information I get in the earpiece when I turn it on is what the battery level is at.

This is a 3rd gen iPod shuffle, correct? Is this computer with Windows 8 new, and never previously connected to this shuffle? Or is it an existing computer (that's been used with this iPod) that is now upgraded to Windows 8?

If it's a new computer, do you still have the previous computer, where you can try the shuffle to see if it's still working properly?
