Q: Can you use airplay without logging in to iTunes account?

I have Apple TV connected by hdmi cable to tv. I have logged into wifi network. Now I don't seem to be able to AirPlay or use mirroring. 

 

What next? Does Apple TV require iTunes account login to work?

iPad 2, iOS 6.1.3

    Have you enabled Airplay on the Apple TV? What is happening when you attempt to Airplay?

    Yes AirPlay is enabled on Apple TV.

    Neither my iPhone 4S nor iPad 3 show the airplay icon nor the "Mirroring" icon. All devices are on the same wifi network.

    My decides work on my home Apple TV correctly.

     

    I am trying to set up the new Apple TV at my beach condo on the association wireless network. This public network may be the problem so I am attempting to reach their tech support people.

    That was going to be my next suggestion as its probably something to do with the condo network. Best of luck

    Oops

    I just discovered that on public networks the administrator must turn on "sharing". On the network that serves my complex the administrator has turned off "sharing" as security measure.

    Apple TV does not airplay or Mirror on non-sharing networks.
