Maybe you had moved the iPhone to silent and you hadn't noticed!?
I have exactly the same problem.phone wont ring....txts don't alert...battery dies within a few hours ONLY HAPPENED SINCE IO S 7 !!!
I have the same exact problem. iPhone 4s, iOS 7.0.2, not in Airplane Mode, not in Do Not Disturb (but I have it scheduled for the evening hours). I can go into contacts and listen to the chosen ring tones, but an incoming call will not cause the phone to ring, just vibrate. I've restarted the phone several times, no luck. I'm open to suggestions?

Under Do not disturb, is Silence set to Only when iphone is locked?
Turning off Do Not Disturb (which I never turned on by the way, this should NOT be the default, Apple!) solved my problems today. Yesterday, powering down, then on did it. Hmmm. buggy iOS 7!
